How Ultrax Uses Data to Help Sports Teams Win – The Future of Performance Tracking

29/03/2025 in Startups

From performance tracking to data-driven decision-making, Ultrax  is transforming how sports teams optimize operations. As a BIRD Incubator alumni [and our floormates], they continue to grow through innovation and strategic partnerships. We sat down with their team to talk about their journey and vision.

Let’s start with a quick intro: What’s the name of your company, what problem are you solving, and what’s your long-term vision for the company?

Ultrax is a business intelligence platform designed for sports organizations, combining performance tracking with advanced data analytics to drive smarter decision-making We help teams, coaches, and organizations optimize training, management, and overall operations. Our long-term vision is to become the leading intelligence hub for sports, integrating cutting-edge technology to support both performance and business growth.

You’ve reached impressive milestones. Can you share the funding you’ve raised,  the size of your team, and what’s next for your growth?

We’ve secured initial funding and continue to grow through strategic partnerships and customer-driven expansion. Our team consists of professionals across product development, sports science, and business operations. Looking ahead, we are focused on scaling our platform, expanding into new markets, and introducing new capabilities that will further enhance how sports organizations operate – without revealing too much just yet.

Matea Skender, Head of Product Development at Ultrax

Every startup has key moments that shape its direction. Can you share a story about a pivotal moment that shifted your company’s approach, and how did you navigate that challenge?

For us, one of the most pivotal realizations was that while technology exists for virtually every aspect of athlete health, training, and performance, the real challenge isn’t just about collecting data – it’s about integrating these tools into a seamless experience

This insight fundamentally shifted our approach. Instead of simply adding more technology to the ecosystem, we focused on consolidation. We recognized that the future of sports tech lies in creating a unified platform that captures actionable data without disrupting what makes athletes great or hindering their development.

To navigate this challenge, we embraced contemporary technology and progressive analytics methodologies to provide data-driven decision support. Our goal became clear: to impact the health, development, and performance of each athlete in a way that feels intuitive rather than intrusive. By prioritizing integration and usability, we transformed our approach from simply innovating to truly optimizing the athlete experience
