From two best friends with a shared mission to improve doctor-patient communication, to founders building an AI-powered medical tool, Livesync MD is redefining how healthcare professionals work. Co-founders Josip Alpeza and Hrvoje Hrvoj joined BIRD Incubator’s Incubation Program to turn their idea into a working solution. We sat down with them to talk about building with LLMs, handling industry skepticism, and what’s next for Livesync MD.
Let’s start with a little intro: Who are you, what’s the name and age of your startup, and what problem are you solving?
We are Josip and Hrvoje, best friends from Zagreb, and our startup is called Livesync MD. Our startup is six months old, and we’re solving a common issue in doctor-patient interactions—doctors often focus on their screens instead of their patients, leading to poor communication and missed details. Livesync MD helps doctors maintain attention on their patients while efficiently managing documentation.
What inspired you to start your company, and what’s the story behind your journey into entrepreneurship?
We saw firsthand how technology can sometimes create a barrier between doctors and patients instead of helping them. Our goal was to develop a solution that enhances, rather than hinders, these crucial interactions, ensuring doctors can focus on what truly matters—the patient.
How did you first connect with BIRD Incubator, and what made you decide to join the program?
We discovered BIRD Incubator through LinkedIn and saw it as a great opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with like-minded entrepreneurs. The supportive environment and mentorship made it an easy decision to apply.
Every startup faces challenges—what’s been your toughest obstacle so far, and how did you overcome it?
One of the toughest challenges has been hearing skepticism from industry professionals who doubt our solution or say it’s too difficult to implement. We remind ourselves that innovation is never easy, and by tackling one challenge at a time, we stay focused and motivated.
What’s one resource, connection, or experience at BIRD Incubator that truly made a difference in your startup’s growth?
The speed dating event was a game-changer—it forced us to confront real criticism, which led to a tough but necessary pivot. It wasn’t easy, but it gave us a clearer perspective and a stronger direction moving forward.
Investors and partners are often curious—what makes your business model stand out, and who are your target customers?
Our business model is subscription-based, with the key selling point being “Saving valuable time”—which translates to increased revenue for clinics. Our target customers are private clinics looking to improve efficiency and doctor-patient interactions.
Let’s talk about the future—where do you see your startup in five years, and what goals are you most excited to achieve?
It’s difficult to predict five years ahead, but our immediate focus is onboarding our pivot clinic and testing the product in real workflows. Understanding its impact on doctors and their efficiency will guide our next steps.
To wrap up, what’s one piece of advice or wisdom from your journey that you believe every founder should know?
Take every day as it comes, keep learning, and never back down. Growth comes from constant evolution, and no question is too small to ask—curiosity is the key to progress.
